One major success Deel had early on was nurturing the growing contractor community that used the platform through unique perks, and exclusive access to the Deel Card.
The Deel Card allows contractors to instantly access their earned wages, expense business purchases, receive advances, and use as a digital wallet to make payments. It’s available in 70 countries (and growing), and is accepted anywhere Visa or Mastercard is accepted. In addition to these benefits, the Deel card allows contractors to keep their income in USD, an essential feature for contractors living and working in countries with less stable currencies.
After our rebrand, we wanted to make the redesign of the Deel card a community event and increase excitement for the new card and engagement through a participatory process. We designed a variety of potential Deel cards and we sent a survey out to our contractor community asking them to vote on their favorites.
With our survey results in hand we coordinated with product, finance, operations and our external vendors to implement the selected design into a digital card, workflow, physical card, packaging, and integrated campaign. This involved coordinating and creating assets for social, product, email, web, and paid ads.
The Deel card includes many differentiators that make it particularly attractive for global contractors and our campaign highlighted these unique benefits through a combination of educational content, product walkthroughs, and and an explanatory social carousel.
